Freedom is the very basis that our country was founded on. We fight for freedom through our military and through the protests that have been with us throughout the founding of this great country. Freedom is not only for our country, but for the life that we lead as Christians. Jesus set us free from our sins yet we hang on to them. After we confess them we should be able to let them go. After all, God said that they will be washed away through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is easy to let unconfessed sin be a common thing in our lives. Once we learn to confess our sins daily, we will experience freedom from the burdenof these sins. Sin is a burden; it's like a rock around our necks. Sometimes we also let unconfessed sin become a burden, rehashing and rethinking it. We have to learn to let it go. God says to confess our sin and to turn away from it. When we do, the beautiful peace and freedom from that sin, will be ours.
1John:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God is faithful and true to His word. He will forgive our sins, if we come humbly before Him and confess our sins. Daily confession of our sins, is a necessary part of achieving freedom from the burden of sin.
I was looking out the window last night, watching the snow fall and cover the ground. It was so beautiful, so pure and clean. Then I thought of the scripture where God speaks about making our sins as white as snow. There is such beauty in that phrase.
Isaiah 1:18, Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet; they shall be white as snow, though they be redlike crimson, they shall be as wool. God takes our sins when confessed and makes us as white as snow. That is a powerful message to us, that through confession, there is purity and freedom.
We all sin in our daily lives, at least I know I do. But as Christians we are free from sin's power. If we walk close to God and confess our sins daily, sin's hold will be lessened. Romans 5:21, That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus took our sins upon Him at Calvary. Through confession, our sins will be washed away.
Our lives are chaotic and it is hard to find time to do all of the things that we need to do. But when we take the time to confess our sins daily, it will give us ultimate peace and freedom. God wants us to come to Him daily. If we let sin build up, it gets a hold on us. Daily confession of our sins, will allow us to feel the freedom from sin that God has set aside for us. He is always there, offering His mercy and forgiveness to us when we repent of our sins. He is loving and caring, and waiting for each of us.
